Smilin' in Shawnee

I feel like I've been a blogging slacker so I'll try and catch up today...

We made it to visit my side of the family and I'm still here with the kids (again that seems so strange to say kids) and Daniel went back to work.  Our little monkey made his first 4 hour car trip with no problems and slept the whole way.  I did wake him up half way to feed him because I was worried he might be hungry.  But if you've held him you'd probably disagree.  His first 2 nights were not the best. I'm going to hope it's because he was just out of sorts from not being in his normal routine.  But he rewarded me last night with a 5 hour stretch before waking up. He's fighting sleep right now in his swing which seems to be another thing he's become fond of doing.

We've spent the last couple days lounging around not doing much which is not always a bad thing.  I got to eat at 1 of the 3 places I HAVE to have while in Oklahoma: Cheesecake Factory. Next up Chickfila and if possible Waffle House.  The Waffle House is always a little trickier. Although I love their waffles I feel like you've stepped into an alternate world when you go into one of them.  They have this weird way of shouting out your order and everyone must be referred to as sugar, doll, or honey.  Plus it seems like the perfect place for someone to try and eat my baby or at the very least try and touch his face.  So we'll see.

On the agenda for today: something fun for Kate and my hair appointment.  I haven't lived here in almost 10 years and haven't lived in the state for 1 1/2 but I still have the same person do my hair if possible.  I'm just not ready to commit to someone new.  So I figure if I'm here why not go in for a little cut and color.

We'll be off to Tulsa on Thursday and will be rejoined by Daniel.  But most exciting is that our little guy smiled at ME.  Before he merely smirked at things almost acknowledging that they might be slightly amusing but in no way warranted a full blown smile.  On his list of favorite things to smirk at were the ceiling fan, lights, paintings, and sometimes just the air.  But last night and several times this morning during his happy morning time he full out smiled right at me!  HA!  Of course I couldn't get a great picture but I'll keep trying.

Ready for the field.

Our little baseball player.

Not the best picture but a smile- I'll keep trying
