So I found the time to go through a couple of boxes and came up with these little gems below. It got me to start reminiscing over the last 10 years. I can't even believe that 10 years have gone by since I was standing in the back of the church so nervous I could hardly stand. I remember trying to convince myself not to pass out when I got to the front and the calm that finally washed over me when it hit me that this was an incredible moment and I needed to relax or I was going to miss it. I knew that regardless of what anyone else thought; this was right and this was just one beautiful moment in what I hoped and continue to hope will be a lifetime of beautiful moments. I knew I was making an enormous decision and I knew that it was a leap of faith. In the time since, I've come to realize how it was the best decision I ever made because it led to all that I am and all that I have: now. It leads to all that I will become.
I can't believe that it's been 10 years since we moved into our 1st apartment in Norman and made the trek down to Dallas to celebrate a pre-honeymoon since we couldn't go on a real one yet. In those 10 years we've experienced joy, heartache, bliss, sadness, and every emotion in between. I've found in my husband a best friend and an amazing father. We've both grown and continue to grow. I know I'm not always the best at letting him know or at showing it, but I love him unconditionally. I knew very early on that he was the one. The one that I suppose I had been waiting for, to come into the picture and change my perspective on love and life.
So on the 10th Anniversary of the day we pledged our love to each other in front of God, our family, and our friends I want him to know: I love you. Happy Anniversary.
Now the sappy part is over... let's get to the fun stuff. Enjoy some pictures from way back in the day right before 2 crazy 21 year olds said, "I do" through around 2002-2003 or at least when we got a digital camera. :-)
July 1999- We took a trip down to South Padre with my family right before we got married and just a month after Daniel had open heart surgery.
Summer 1999- Daniel stayed with my family a lot this summer before we got married. Here we are hanging out in their kitchen.Summer 1999- We didn't have a lot of pictures of the 2 of us before we got married and we took some so we could pt together a picture slideshow for the wedding.
I was in my senior year of college and Daniel had started his first year of Grad School when we got married. So we waited until Christmas break to go on our honeymoon. Here we are at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris December 1999.
I call this our paparazzi photo. It makes me think of the photos they take in airports of celebrities getting off planes and posing for a photo op. We were in Dallas just back from our honeymoon. December 24, 1999.
Those cats were like our children in the early years. Here we are with Sammy and Sophie in our first apartment in Summer 2000.
